Meet & Greet + Live Drawing Session with The Raptory

THE BIRDS ARE BACK!!

Jade Chen, owner/founder of The Raptory, a traveling wildlife education and falconry organization, will be bringing their lovely flying feathered companions Charizard (Eastern Screech Owl) and Poundcake (Peregrine Falcon hybrid) to the shop for a meet & greet, followed by a live drawing session with the birds! Tickets to each of these events will be sold SEPARATELY. Spots are limited and first come, first served! See below for specific information about each event:

Meet & Greet

The Meet & Greet program provides opportunities for one-on-one learning with the raptors with a larger audience. Guests will meet each bird in turn and learn about them, and about raptors and raptor conservation in general, from founder Jade Chen. Questions and photos with the birds encouraged!

Wildlife Drawing Session
2-5pm
Age 16+ only please

Perfect for creatives! Open to every level of artist! Attendees will have time to hone their observational skills and creativity by sketching, drawing, painting (or whatever your medium of choice happens to be!) the raptors in a variety of still and action poses in this unique instructional. Artist and founder Jade Chen will be standing by offering raptor facts and any artistic assistance, tips, and tricks for drawing a living, moving subject.

NOTE: Please bring your own drawing medium of choice—we are not able to provide art supplies for attendees. Seating will be provided.

Event rules and info are as follows:

• Tickets are available for each of these events separately, although you are welcome to buy a ticket to both and stay for the whole afternoon!

• This will be an indoor event, taking place inside Unkindness Art tattoo studio (there will be no tattooing taking place during the event!)

• Off-street parking is available on a first come, first served basis in our parking lot behind the building, on Brookland Park Blvd. Otherwise, neighborhood street parking is plentiful!

• Tickets are NONREFUNDABLE; all proceeds from sales of tickets go to The Raptory

• For the safety and comfort of the birds and other attendees, late entry to the events will not be allowed.

• Tickets MUST be purchased online ahead of time, we will not be doing ticket sales at the door; please bring valid photo ID with you to the event.

• Light drinks and snacks will be provided!
